Registration will be $30 for the 2 day event. This will cover 1 chair and enough table
space for 1 computer. If you wish to bring a file/game server you will have to put it on
server row. Click on the Help Us tab on the navigation window on
information on how arrange this.
Yes! There will be official tournments that will be determined by the registrated users
by voting. Also unoffical gamer run tournaments are more than welcome. Anyone interested in
running an unnoficial tournament speak to one the pLan X staff and we will make an announcement
at the event. Apart the tournaments there are also plans for a Texas Hold'em poker tournment and a
case mod contest. If you have an idea for a contest or activity let us know by clicking the
Suggestions button on the navigation menu on the left.
Everything you own. No, seriously this is a big issue. You can start preparing your gear weeks
before the event only to realize too late that you forgot to bring your monitor. We have dedicated a
page to list the required and optional items you may want to bring. Check the
What To Bring button on the navigation pane.
The short answer to this is no. The reason is that power for a large lan event is limited. We only
allow you to connect 1 PC and 1 Monitor. We understand that some people may have certain needs beyond
this and arrangements can be made to a point. An external hard drive may be ok, but don't expect to bring
a small refigerator. If you are found to be abusing this you may be asked to leave without a refund.
Windows. Most versions should be fine, but make sure you have all the latest security patches and
are free from virus/spyware. You may run any OS you want, but are on your own to get onto the network.
Also many games won't run, or won't run as well outside of windows so make sure you do your research
ahead of time. It is also a good idea to bring your OS installation disks in the unlikely event that
you will need to install/re-install.
Of course, we encourage anyone to catch some sleep if they need it. We want our attendees to be safe
on their drive home. Space permitting, we will try to set aside an area for sleeping. You are on your own
for blankets/pillows etc.
We expect to, but we are still working out the details. Similar event in the past have had cable internet
access to we don't expect any issues.
Sure, check out the help link on the left for details on helping us.
We will be happy to answer any questions you may have. You can send an e-mail to staff@pLanXGaming.com
